UVA Athletics announced Wednesday that tickets for the UVA-Virginia Tech football game are now on sale to the general public.

Don’t get too excited.

The only tix available are in the upper deck, and they start at $105.50.

But there is this – if you’re willing to consider becoming a Virginia Athletics Foundation member, you can call to discuss lower-level seating options, per a press release from UVA Athletics that went out today.

This is good.

I did this back in 2019 to score tickets to the World Series; just had to commit to buying Washington Nationals season tickets the next year, and, voila.

Joke was on them: COVID got me a refund on those 2020 season tickets.

Pandemics only come up every 100 years, so I wouldn’t bank on this with the Tech tickets.

The press release also related that student guest tickets are available now.

All student guest seating will be in student overflow seating in the upper level.

Tickets will be available to claim on Friday and available to claim through the duration of the game.

UVA students will be given priority access to The Hill for this game and are the only group that will be guaranteed admission onto The Hill, as capacity allows.

Students will need to show their ticket for entry into the space.

Student guests will not be granted access to The Hill.

Whether there will be more than token security in that area is still up for discussion.
