Frank, along with Virginia alumni Somdev Devvarman (Class of 2008) and Sanam Singh (Class of 2011), will begin play in the 128-player draw on Tuesday at the Billie jean King National Tennis Center.

The qualifying tournament will run through Friday, with main draw play beginning on Monday (Aug. 25).

Frank will play Stefan Kozlov in the opening round. He is making his second appearance in the qualifying draw, reaching the second round in 2011 in his debut.

Devvarman is the No. 24 seed in qualifying and plays Ernesto Escobedo in the first round. He is looking to reach the main draw of the sixth consecutive year, having reached the round of 64 in 2009 and 2013.

Singh received a wild card into qualifying after winning the USTA National Playoff tournament. After winning the Missouri Valley section to earn entry into the playoff, Singh won the 16-player event with four victories over the last week in New Haven, Conn. He will make his US Open debut when he plays Flavio Cipolla in the first round of qualifying.

Players in the qualifying draw need to win three matches this week to advance to the 128-player main draw. CBS Sports Network will show live coverage of the qualifying tournament every afternoon through Friday, beginning at 1 p.m.

The three Cavaliers will look to join a pair of Virginia alumni competing in the main draw of the US Open. The doubles pair of Treat Huey (Class of 2008) and Dominic Inglot (Class of 2009), who reached the US Open quarterfinals last year, is teaming together at the tournament for the third consecutive year.
