UVA men’s soccer to play Maryland in September

Chris Graham

uva soccerThe UVA men’s soccer program will play a neutral site game against Maryland on Monday, September 3 at Audi Field, future home of DC United. The Cavaliers and Terps will square off for the first time since 2015.

The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start and the opportunity to secure tickets will be announced at a later date.

The former Atlantic Coast Conference foes last meeting in the regular season came in 2013, one of three matchups during that year. The two teams have met only once since Maryland left the ACC after the 2013 season. The 79 all-time matches against the Terps are the most against any other opponent.

Audi Field will be the home for D.C. United beginning on July 14, 2018. The state-of-the-art urban facility is located in the Buzzard Point section of Southwest D.C just two blocks from Nationals Park. The stadium will have a capacity for 20,000 fans.

The entire 2018 Virginia men’s soccer schedule will be unveiled in the near future.
