Virginia finally got an ACC Player of the Week, with left guard Noah Josey taking the league’s offensive lineman honor for Week 4.
Josey, center Brian Stevens and left tackle Jack Witmer cleared the way for a huge day on the ground for the Cavaliers in the 43-24 win at Coastal Carolina on Saturday.
The focus of the ground game was up the middle, where UVA gained 169 yards on 17 attempts on middle left and middle right runs, and around the left end, with 84 yards on 13 attempts there.
According to Pro Football Focus, Josey was the nation’s third-best pass-blocking guard this past week with a grade of 86.2.
