UVaHelmet_1UVA sophomore safety Wilfred Wahee and sophomore fullback Connor Wingo-Reeves have been named to the 2014 Atlantic Coast Conference All-Academic Football Team, as announced by league commissioner John Swofford.

This is the first career ACC All-Academic accolades for Wahee (Norfolk, Va.) and Wingo-Reeves (Midlothian, Va.). The ACC has selected an ACC All-Academic Team every year since 1954, and with the addition of the duo, UVa has had 206 Cavaliers earn such honors since the inception of the award.

Wahee appeared in all 12 of UVa’s games and was tied for the team lead in special teams tackles with nine. He made 21 tackles overall and recorded a team-best six stops on kick-off returns. Wingo-Reeves appeared in all 12 of UVa’s games with one start and was a key blocking component from the fullback position in the rushing game. He made three catches out of the backfield for the Cavaliers.

To be eligible for consideration for the team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career. All 14 ACC schools were represented by at least two selections on the team.
