UVA Athletics will honor 2026 College Football Hall of Fame electee Herman Moore during Saturday’s UVA Football game with Syracuse.
Moore, a consensus first-team All-American in 1990, finished sixth in the Heisman Trophy voting that year as he and QB Shawn Moore led Virginia to a #1 national ranking for three weeks in October and November.
Moore will be the sixth Virginia player inducted into the College Hall of Fame, joining:
- Bill Dudley (1939-1941)
- Joe Palumbo (1949-1951)
- Tom Scott (1950-1952)
- Jim Dombrowski (1982-1985)
- Anthony Poindexter (1995-1998)
Hall of Fame coaches who headed the University of Virginia program include
- Frank Murray
- Greasy Neale
- George Sanford
- George Welsh
The 2026 College Football Hall of Fame class will be inducted on Dec. 8.
