UVA basketball signs Brewster Academy star Jarred Reuter

Chris Graham

uva basketballUVA men’s head basketball coach Tony Bennett has announced the signing of power forward Jarred Reuter (Marion, Mass.) to a National Letter of Intent with the Cavaliers.

“We are excited to welcome Jarred into the Virginia men’s basketball family,” Bennett said. “Jarred is tough, physical and plays with a lot of intensity. He is a gifted passer who plays with great feel for an inside player. Jarred will also value the degree he will earn from the University of Virginia.”

In 2013-14, the 6-8, 250-pound Reuter (pronounced ROY-ter) averaged 13 points and nine rebounds and shot 57.5 percent from the floor during his junior season at Brewster Academy (Wolfeboro, N.J.) under head coach Jason Smith. Reuter helped Brewster to a 33-2 record and New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class AAA championship and National Prep title.

In 2012-13, Reuter was named the NEPSAC Class A Player of the Year after averaging 23 points and 12 rebounds for Tabor Academy.
