I reported earlier this week that the new UVA Basketball coach, Ryan Odom, was working on a nonconference series with Texas.

Turns out, a game with Texas is on the schedule for the coming season, but it’s part of the ACC/SEC Challenge, so, not the result of Odom working on beefing up his nonconference schedule.

The game will take place on a Wednesday night, Dec. 3, on Night 2 of the Challenge, down in Austin.

The game will be the first between the two programs.

The UVA women’s team will also play on Dec. 3 in the women’s ACC/SEC Challenge, on the road at Vanderbilt.

The marquee games on the schedule – on the men’s side, defending national champ Florida at Duke and UNC at Kentucky (both on Dec. 2), and on the women’s side, LSU at Duke and South Carolina at Louisville (both on Dec. 4).

The Dec. 3 schedule on both sides is kinda meh, so our games might get some eyeballs, by default.
