UVA Basketball alum Jacari White is moving on from his brief stint in the NBA Summer League, after signing a one-year deal with Windrose Giants Antwerp, the reigning BNXT League champions.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed; top-tier foreigners bring in between $110,000 and $150,000 per year in the league, which includes teams in Belgium and the Netherlands.

White had signed a Summer League deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, but did not get off the bench in either of the team’s first two games.

White is among the purest shooters from the perimeter on the free-agent market, shooting 43.4 percent from three this past season at Virginia, on volume (5.1 attempts per game) – with five games in which he had four or more makes from three, and a high of seven (he was 7-of-7 from three in a win over Dayton in December).

At 6’3”, White might be a little undersized to play two guard in the NBA, but his game – particularly his shooting from the perimeter – should fit in nicely in Europe.

The announcement from his new team overseas noted that Thijs de Ridder played with Antwerp before signing with Virginia last summer.
