The loss is the third in four games in ACC play for the 14th-ranked ‘Hoos (10-6, 1-3 ACC).

Woolfolk (1-1, 3.38 ERA) allowed five runs, four earned, on six hits in five innings of work, striking out four and walking three.

Austin Turkington (3-2, 3.38 ERA) got the win for Cal (9-8, 2-2 ACC), limiting Virginia to one run on three hits in six and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking three.
