The UVA Basketball game with North Carolina on Saturday will now tip off at noon ET, and the Tony Bennett dedication that had been scheduled before tipoff has been moved to February.

This is due to the forecast of up to a foot of snow in the Charlottesville-Albemarle area on Saturday, and maybe more so because the Chapel Hill-Durham area is forecast to get 1-3 inches of snow and ice from the approaching winter storm.

The game had originally been set for a 2 p.m. ET tip, with a ceremony honoring Bennett at 1:45 p.m.

The tribute to Bennett, who retired in 2024, which includes the dedication of the court in the coach’s name, has been moved to Saturday, Feb. 21, ahead of an ACC game with Miami.

UVA Athletics noted in a release announcing this news that officials are also monitoring the weather for impacts on Sunday’s women’s basketball game at JPJ between the ‘Hoos and NC State.
