Updated Tuesday, 2:27 p.m. The preliminary investigation indicates that Jared Llamado did not know the victims prior to the incident.

None of the victims were in Llamado’s vehicle, according to an update from Virginia State Police.

The deceased dog belonged to Llamado. He is the only suspect involved in the incident.

Virginia State Police has released the name of the Northern Virginia man who died after an officer-involved shooting on the Beltway Sunday that occurred after the suspect allegedly stabbed four people, killing one.

Jared Llamado, 32, of McLean, was shot by a Virginia State Police trooper after he confronted the trooper with a knife. He was transported to the hospital where he later died.

Michele Adams, 39, died at the scene, after being stabbed by Llamado, according to VSP.

Three other women were stabbed and suffered serious injuries: Dana Bonnell, 36, Mary C. Flood, 37, and Heather Miller, 40. All were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

A dog was also stabbed and is deceased.

The trooper was not injured.

It is unknown if the stabbing was random; police believe the motive was likely road rage following a crash on the interstate.
