Update from Virginia State Police on Crozet gyoplane crash

policecar3At 2:03 p.m., Wednesday (Feb. 4), Virginia State Police Trooper E.W. Jones was called to a crash landing of an aircraft in the 6500 block of Roseland Farm Lane. An auto gyroplane was attempting to take off from a field when it swerved to the left and tipped over in the same field.

Its pilot, David L. King of Crozet, Va., was not injured in the crash. He was the aircraft’s only occupant.

The FAA and NTSB were both notified of the incident.
