United Way of Greater Augusta hosts Week of Caring

united way of greater augustaDuring the National Volunteer Week, over a 100 volunteers in the Greater Augusta region will complete projects with local nonprofit agencies and schools. On a local level, this event is called the Week of Caring (#woc2018) and is an annual event for United Way of Greater Augusta.

Some of the highlights of the week will include a project on the CreativeWorks Farm as well as the Project Grows Farm. Volunteers will also be helping Wilson Memorial High School with an Earth Day Project on Friday, April 20th. McKee Foods will again partner with Renewing Homes in completing critical repairs for a local family so that they can stay in their homes.

Week of Caring will wrap up with a Children’s Book Swap on Saturday, April 21st at the UWGA’s office on 24 Idlewood Blvd at 1pm.

Community members are invited to stop by and bring a children’s book that they will be able to swap out for another book. United Way staff and board of directors will be visiting all sites to thank the volunteers throughout the week.

DCCU will be at United Way of Greater Augusta
City National Bank will be at the Daily Living Center

Thursday, April 19
DCCU will be at McSwain Elementary School and Dixon Preschool
McKee will be with Renewing Homes of Greater Augusta
Columbia Gas of Virginia and Ball Technologies will be at Project Grows

Friday, April 20
City National Bank and DCCU will be at Wilson Memorial High School

Saturday, April 21
DCCU will be at United Way of Greater Augusta
