acc footballFour Atlantic Coast Conference football games – Louisville vs. Alabama on Sept. 1, Miami vs. LSU on Sept. 2, Virginia Tech at Florida State on Sept. 3, and Penn State at Pitt on Sept. 8 – will be televised in primetime as announced by ESPN.

The ACC will be prominently featured on ABC and ESPN in college football’s opening weekend, beginning with Louisville’s game against defending national champion Alabama in the Camping World Kickoff on Saturday, Sept. 1 on ABC at 8 p.m. The neutral site meeting in Orlando, Florida, is just the fourth matchup between the two programs since the Cardinals won 34-7 in the 1991 Fiesta Bowl.

A day later, Miami and LSU meet Sunday night in Arlington, Texas, at 7:30 p.m. on ABC in the AdvoCare Classic. Both the Tigers and Hurricanes are ranked in ESPN’s “Way-Too-Early Top 25”, with Miami in the top 10 following last season’s ACC Coastal Division Championship.

Wrapping up the opening weekend, Virginia Tech travels to Florida State for the ACC’s annual Labor Day Monday night game. As previously announced, that game will kick off at 8 p.m. on ESPN.

In the second week of the season, one of college football’s oldest in-state rivalries will be played in prime time when Pitt plays host to Penn State on Saturday, Sept. 8, at 8 p.m. on ABC. The two teams have met 98 times, dating back to 1893.

Additional game times and networks for the first three weeks of the season will be released in the near future.
