Two West Virginians dead after single-vehicle crash in Frederick County

Two people from Charles Town, W.Va., died Friday in Frederick County after their Ford Econoline collided with a tree.

Virginia State Police is investigating the single-vehicle fatal crash on Aug. 2 at 6 p.m. on Route 259 (Carpers Pike), near Owl Lane.

The 2002 Ford was traveling south on Route 259 when it ran off the right side of the roadway and hit a tree.

The driver, Randy H. Malick, 58; and a passenger, Frances Malick, 57; died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
