Two Stuarts Draft residents have been charged with assaults on law enforcement following an incident in Augusta County overnight.
Carissa Allen and Stuart Cox were charged in the Tuesday incident on York Avenue in Stuarts Draft.
Augusta County sheriff’s deputies were on the scene to investigate a reported assault when they were confronted by Allen and Cox.
In all, four deputies were assaulted. None suffered serious injuries.
Cox also faces charges for the assault that the deputies were on scene to investigate. In that case, it is alleged that Cox assaulted a 38-year-old Stuarts Draft man and destroyed his mobile phone.
The victim required medical attention for injuries to his face and shoulder.
