Donald Trump now wants the new Washington Commanders stadium named after him, because of course he does.

“That would be a beautiful name, as it was President Trump who made the rebuilding of the new stadium possible,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told ESPN on Friday night via email.

Fact check: and you don’t need me to tell you this, because like literally everything else from these grifters, that’s not true.

The owners of the NFL team are putting $2.7 billion toward the cost of the new stadium on the old RFK Stadium site, with the local government in Washington, D.C., putting up the remainder, an estimated $1 billion.

Neither Donald Trump personally nor the federal government that he thinks is his personal plaything is putting up a dime.

And anyway, it’s not set to open until 2030: Trump will be out of office and either in jail or dead by then.

In the meantime, though, Trump will be at the Commanders game with the Detroit Lions on Sunday, and as long as he can stay awake, he is supposed to take part in halftime activities honoring the military.

Gotta love ESPN reporting that a “senior White House source” told the outlet that the stadium-name thing is “what the president wants, and it will probably happen.”

Over a lot of people’s dead bodies.
