A suspect clocked at 115 mph on a motorcycle on southbound I-495 in Prince William County fled a state trooper, later lost control and died at the scene of a 1 a.m. Thursday crash.

Identification of the suspect is pending notification of next of kin, from a report on the incident from Virginia State Police.

According to the report, a trooper attempted a traffic stop after clocking the motorcycle at 115 mph in the vicinity of Eisenhower Avenue.

After a pursuit was initiated, the suspect motorcycle continued onto southbound Interstate 95, exiting at Exit 152A.

The suspect then drove onto Route 1, where the motorcyclist eventually lost control, went off of the left side of the road, and struck the median.

The suspect was ejected from the motorcycle and died at the scene.

Suspected narcotics and cash were located on the motorcycle, according to VSP.

The crash remains under investigation.
