Delaware senior guard Jawan Carter scored the game’s next eight points, including back-to-back 3-pointers to put the Blue Hens on top 14-9 with 13:24 remaining. After a pull-up jumper from just inside the top of the key, the Tribe rookie connected on a 3-pointer to tie the contest at 14 with at the 11:50 mark.

Following another Ludwick 3-pointer, Kitts hit 1-of-2 from the free throw line to put the College on top 24-22 with 7:06 remaining in the first half. Delaware, which shot 50 percent in the first half, closed the half on a 12-2 run and took a 34-26 lead into the locker room.

The UD lead remained eight, 38-30, on a lay-up from Devon Saddler at the 14:25 before the Tribe surged in front. W&M scored nine straight points to take the lead. After Britt found McDowell for a lay-up, Boatner drove and kicked to find sophomore Kyle Gaillard for a 3-pointer from the left side. On the ensuing Delaware possession, junior guard Kendrix Brown made a steal and converted it into a fastbreak lay-up, cutting the deficit to one. Following a foul on Saddler, Boatner went to the charity stripe and converted on both free throws to give the College a 39-38 lead with 11:51 remaining.

Delaware answered with a 14-2 run to regain the lead for good. Senior Alphonso Dawson book-ended the run with buckets as he converted on a pull-up jumper as UD regained and his 3-pointer from the right wing at the 7:23 mark pushed the Blue Hens’ lead to 52-41. Senior guard Brian Johnson came up big on the run for Delaware as well with five points, including a 3-pointer. The Tribe pulled within seven points on two occasions the rest of the way, but could get no closer.
