Friday, Oct. 9 – Barbara Martin’s Earthy Blues and Sassy Swing served up with an order of “Frim-Fram Sauce atop the Ausen Fay and Shifafa on the side”…a Fall Foliage Festival Friday like The Valley’s never seen before! Music begins at 6:15 p.m., Frim-Fram , Ausen Fay, and Shifafa dining begins at 6 p.m. No cover charge. Space limited. Call for seating availability.

Saturday, Oct. 10 – Fall Foliage Festival celebrates Appalachian Dulcimer Day at Stone Soup Books and Café. Dulcimers, locally hand-crafted, traditional, and contemporary on display beginning at 10 a.m. Dulcimer-playing demonstration and concert during the dining hours from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free. “Anybody Can Play a Tune” dulcimer mini-workshop at 1:30 p.m. No charge. Dulcimers available. Bring your own lawn chair for sitting and listening.

Saturday, Oct. 10 – Fall Foliage Dining (6-9 p.m.) with music by Sound Direction, an a cappella sextet performing an eclectic mixture of jazz, pop, folk, spirituals, and novelty tunes. Music from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. No cover charge. Space limited. Call for seating availability.

Sunday, Oct. 11 – Fall Foliage Brunch, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with specialties prepared by “Chef Laura” and music by “Dulcimer Dinah.” Reservations are encouraged.

Friday, Oct. 16 – Southwater, a collective of bluegrass and acoustic musicians,  encompass a love of bluegrass, old time, country, jazz, blues and other musical traditions. As a result, SOUTHWATER’s music stands at the crossroads of the old and the new, the traditional and the progressive. Consistent within the performances is harmony singing, improvising and a “ragged but right” approach that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Music from 6:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. No cover charge. Space limited. Call for seating availability.

Saturday, Oct. 17 – Dulcimer Workshop for Rank Beginners, 9:30–11:30 a.m. “Dulcimer Dinah” is offering a dulcimer workshop for people who “can’t even play a radio.” She guarantees participants will be able to play a tune at the end of the workshop. Dulcimers available for rent – $15. Workshop – $35. Registration required.
