He will talk about why this is a good place to be an artist – particularly one who paints outdoors – at Conversations about Art on Monday April 22, from 12:30-1:30.

This talk is a part of a series of free lunch-time lectures sponsored by the Beverley Street Studio School, and will be held at the gallery at 22 West Beverley Street, Staunton.  Coffee, tea and cookies are served. The public is warmly invited to attend the informal talk and encouraged to bring a bag lunch.

Steve will be teaching a weekend workshop at BSSS May 31-June 2, titled “Better Results and More Fun with Plein Painting.” Enrollment is now open. Call the office to register!

M. Stephen Doherty has written a dozen art books and hundreds of magazine articles; exhibited his paintings in solo and group exhibitions; served on the advisory boards of art schools and artists’ organziations; and judged art exhibitions for museums and art societies. He and his wife Sara moved to Waynesboro in December and both have been thoroughly enjoying the local community of artists and art enthusiasts.
