The City of Staunton will close the Wharf parking lot and Byers Street on Friday morning for emergency infrastructure repairs.

These closures are a precautionary measure to protect safety, according to a news release sent late Thursday night.

City crews will work as quickly as possible with the goal of reopening portions of the Wharf lot by the end of the day.

Parking in the New Street and Johnson Street garages will be free while repairs are taking place.
