Robin & Linda Williams, Robbie Fulks, Lucy Kaplansky and David Wilcox will lead an impressive line-up at Theater Wagon’s 2024 Oak Grove Folk Music Festival from Aug 9 to 11, 2024.
Held at the Oak Grove Theater in Staunton, bands The Fly Birds and Furnace Mountain, and Miss Tess, Valerie McQueen and Brandon Collins are also scheduled to perform.
The festival offers free parking, free water and an on-site food truck.
Saturday includes two morning workshops: Stretches with Joe Dockery (of Dockery Chiropractic) and History of the Dulcimer from the Appalachian Dulcimer Museum. Saturday evening starts with The Mel Lee Memorial Open Mike, hosted by Den Frumen, just before dinner time. And Sunday morning starts with an all-hands sing & jam-along song circle hosted by Erin Staebell and Jim Harrington.
Theater Wagon has brought national, regional and local talent to a non-profit, outdoor festival since 1979 in Oak Grove Theater. Past performers included Peggy Seeger, Mike Seeger, Rory Block, Stephen Bennett, John McCutcheon, Dar Wiliams, The Steel Wheels, Sierra
Hull, Carrie Newcomer, Sparky & Rhonda Rucker and Townes Van Zandt.
