Staunton opens Business Way

Contributors

staunton2editsThe City of Staunton opened a new road, Business Way, which connects Middlebrook Avenue and Montgomery Avenue, in a ceremony on Thursday.

Business Way was completed earlier this spring, at a cost of $740,600.  The project was funded equally by the City of Staunton and the Virginia Department of Transportation, through its Revenue Sharing Program.

Right-of-way for the project, which was managed by the city’s engineering department, was donated to the city by Equity Partners, LLC.  The general contractor was F. Clayton Plecker and Sons, Inc.

Business Way provides an additional route for emergency vehicles and other traffic between Montgomery Hall Park, as well as residences in the vicinity of Montgomery Avenue, and other parts of the city.
