Staunton-Augusta Family YMCA summer partnership with The Club At Ironwood launches

staunton-augusta family ymcaThe summer joint partnership between the Staunton-Augusta Family YMCA and the Club at Ironwood launches Friday with a soft opening of the outdoor pool.

The partnership allows a limited number of YMCA members to pay an additional fee to access The Club at Ironwood’s outdoor pool, outdoor tennis courts and outdoor volleyball courts for the summer.

The YMCA will provide the aquatics staff for The Club at Ironwood pool. The wading pool will not be open at tomorrow’s soft launch.

“It’s a great way to add value to people’s memberships and allow us to get outside and add some additional programming,” Staunton-Augusta Family YMCA executive director Josh Cole said.

The Club at Ironwood’s pool is open from 11 am – 7 pm daily from May 25 through September 3.

On June 16 and July 7, the pool will operate on a restricted schedule to accommodate Ironwood festivities, and there will be an additional four days where the pool will close early due to swim meets. Those dates will be announced in the near future.

“We hope that the partnership between the Staunton-Augusta Family YMCA and the Club at Ironwood will provide healthier living opportunities for the community at large,” Cole said.
