Staunton Augusta Art Center announces kids’ classes

The Staunton Augusta Art Center announces a second series of classes for students in grades K-4.

Tuesday Art Studio for home schoolers, K-4

“Rhythm in Art”: It is what makes flowing water, birds in flight, and the pattern of a plowed field fascinating.  We will explore how the painter, sculptor, and young artist incorporate rhythm into a work of art.

Four Tuesdays, 10/16 – 11/6; Time: 10:30 – Noon

$60/members; $70/non-members (total for the series of all 4 classes) Pre-registration is required by calling the Staunton Augusta Art Center at 540-885-2028.

These series are taught by veteran teacher (history, English, art, and theater) Karen Hurt, B.F.A., M.A.T., locally known also for her long involvement in community theater.  An artist herself, Karen lived and studied art and art history in Rome and began her career in art conservation/restoration at a private gallery in Washington, D.C.
