Staunton announces changes to Hurricane Florence plan

staunton virginiaBased on updated weather forecasts, the City of Staunton is announcing two changes to its plan for Hurricane Florence:

Sandbags

The City will no longer provide sandbags on Friday. Instead, residents can make sandbags from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday at the Montgomery Hall Park soccer field parking lot. The City will provide the sand and bags. Be sure to bring a shovel.

Gypsy Hill Park Closure

The closure of Gypsy Hill Park has been cancelled for now, and the park will remain open as usual until further notice. If conditions worsen, City officials may decide to close the park.
