State Police search for Chesterfield man who fled serious crash scene

Virginia State Police are looking for a man wanted in connection with a serious crash on Nov. 17, 2024, in Powhatan County.

Robin “Robbie” Lynwood Wood Jr., of Chesterfield, may have fled Virginia and could be in another state, according to police. He has ties to Chesterfield and Hanover counties and the City of Richmond.

According to police, the serious crash resulted from an attempt to elude a Powhatan Sheriff’s deputy and led to significant injuries to three passengers in the vehicle.

The single-vehicle crash occurred as the suspect was allegedly fleeing authorities at high speed.

After the collision, Wood fled the scene on foot, leaving the injured passengers behind.

All three victims were transported to Chippenham Hospital for medical treatment.

Wood’s last known address is 10166 Iron Mill Road in Chesterfield.

He is facing multiple felony charges for the crash.

Wood has faced 88 offenses dating back to 2004 including theft, drug, DWI, eluding police, assault and battery and numerous probation violations, according to online case information.
