State Police: Cumberland County man dead in single-vehicle crash Tuesday morning

A 39-year-old Virginia man died Tuesday morning when his vehicle ran off the road in Cumberland County.

Marc A. Sims, 39, of Cumberland, died at the scene, according to Virginia State Police.

The single vehicle crash occurred at 6:35 a.m. on Trents Mill Road. Sims was heading northbound in a 2021 Chevrolet Spark, near the intersection with Sugarfork Road, when he ran off the right side of the road, struck a mailbox and then multiple trees.

The crash remains under investigation.
