State Police: 75-year-old man dead after accident in Pittsylvania County

A single-vehicle accident in Pittsylvania County Wednesday resulted in the death of a 75-year-old Chatham man.

Joseph Patrick Miheye was transported to SOVAH Health in Danville, where he later died.

The accident occurred at 12:50 p.m. on Franklin Turnpike, four tenths of a mile south of Callands Roads in Pittsylvania County.

Miheye was driving a 2003 Toyota Tundra and was traveling south when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected and overturned, according to Virginia State Police.

Miheye was wearing his seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation.
