State Board of Elections launches new website

Contributors

The State Board of Elections today marked the launch of its new website at SBE.Virginia.gov.

SBE’s new website contains numerous improvements specifically geared towards educating voters for the upcoming November general election.  The new website presents a vastly simplified user interface with easily accessible links to the information most important to Virginians including a tool to allow a voter to check his or her registration status, a polling place finder, information on the absentee voting process, detailed information on the new voter ID requirements, a link to the voter’s sample ballot, and other information.

The website also contains instructional videos on several topics including the new voter ID requirements, absentee voting, instructions for military personnel, voters with disabilities, and other topics.

SBE will make additional enhancements to the website in the coming weeks, including upgrading the portal used by voters to review their voting record.

State Board of Elections Secretary Don Palmer expressed his excitement for the launch of the new website.

“I’m pleased to announce the launch of SBE’s new website,” Palmer said. “SBE staff, in consultation with local election officials, worked diligently to launch the new website in advance of the November General Election.  We want all Virginians to be election-ready this November and SBE’s new website provides a valuable tool towards that goal.  We encourage all Virginians to visit the new site today.”
