stabSt. Anne’s-Belfield School will host a festive Madrigal Dinner complete with feasting and comedic and vocal performances on Dec. 12.

This sixth annual Madrigal Dinner will feature the 74-student Upper School Concert Choir performing pieces including Tomas Luis Victoria’s O Magnum Mysterium and Fum, Fum, Fum, a traditional Catalan dance carol arranged by Alice Parker and Robert Shaw. Mr. Rob Lane, the chair of the School’s performing arts department, will conduct, and keyboard accompaniment will be provided by Dr. Shelby Sender.

“The Madrigal Dinner is a wonderful celebration of the holiday season,” said Lane. “There is something special about having the students dress up in Renaissance costume that really makes the event come alive in a magical way.”

Reservations for the dinner are required. Families are invited and encouraged to attend, however the concert and dinner are not suitable for students younger than fifth grade. Adult dinner tickets are $20, student dinner tickets are $15, and general admittance tickets with no dinner are $5. To order tickets, please visit www.stab.org/madrigal.

The dinner will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 12 in the St. Anne’s-Belfield School Lee-DuVal Dining Hall (2132 Ivy Road). Doors open at 7:00 p.m.
