St. Anne’s-Belfield Head of School David Lourie assumes VAIS presidency

st. anne's-belfield schoolSt. Anne’s-Belfield Head of School David Lourie has assumed the presidency of the Virginia Association of Independent Schools (VAIS) Board of Directors for a two-year term.

VAIS, a nonprofit membership association providing services and support to 95 independent schools across Virginia, promotes educational, ethical, and professional excellence. Member services include personalized staff support, accreditation, professional development, general resources, and legislative services and regulatory monitoring.

Lourie originally joined the Board to become involved in the accreditation process, having a particular interest in benchmarks and standards of success. Following that he served a two-year term as vice president before taking on the role of president as of July, 2018.
