Staunton Augusta Art Center Annual Youth Art Show

Friday, March 30 through Sunday, April 1

Gallery located at the Staunton Augusta Art Center galleries in the R. R. Smith Center for History & Art at 20 S. New  Street.  The best art works from all public, private, and independent schools in Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County will be on display.  Hours of operation are 10-5 Mon. through Fri., 10-4 Saturdays, and 1-4 Sundays. www.saartcenter.org  Contact: Beth Hodge, Executive Director, 540-885-2028.

 

Staunton Augusta Art Center: Creating with Colored Pencils

Six Tuesdays starting April 3 • 7 to 9PM

High School and adult students will explore colored pencil techniques of blending, shading, and mixing as they draw from life and create from imagination. Some previous drawing experience required.  Please bring drawing paper, watercolor pencils (24), watercolor brushes, drawing pencil and eraser. In the R. R. Smith Center for History and Art, classroom #5 at 20 S. New Street.  Pre-registration required by calling 540-885-2028. $160/$144 members. Staunton/Augusta Farmers’ Market Opens

Wednesday, April 4 and Saturday, April 7 ● 7 am to Noon

Enjoy shopping at the Wharf for locally grown and produced foods and plants at the 19th Annual Farmer’s Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. until Noon from April through November. Sunspots Parking Lot

There will be an Earth Day celebration in the Sunspots Parking lot, across from the Farmer’s Market.  Earth-friendly organizations will have booths and conduct interactive learning and awareness displays.  Enjoy hands-on activities, live native wildlife shows, Earth art demonstrations, face painting, music, native plant sale, free saplings, and more. Admission is free.
