Spotsylvania County: Double fatal crash on Interstate 95 southbound overnight

Two people have died in a crash on Interstate 95 southbound in Spotsylvania County overnight. The double fatal crash occurred near the 126 mile marker just after 1 a.m. this morning.

A Dodge Ram truck pulling a utility trailer went off of the right side of the interstate, where it struck a stopped tractor trailer.

The impact caused the Ram to catch fire. The two occupants of the Ram died at the scene. Their names have not been released.

The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation, according to Virginia State Police.
