Spay/Neuter Clinic hosts adoption event in Waynesboro

AFP

The Shenandoah Valley Spay/Neuter Clinic is teaming up with the Augusta Shelter to host a mega pet adoption event at the Waynesboro Books-a-Million on Saturday, July 21st 2012 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Waynesboro Town Center.

This event will feature cats and dogs available for adoption from the Augusta Shelter for only $25. The adoption fee includes free spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, and testing performed by the Shenandoah Valley Spay/Neuter Clinic. The event is free and open to the public.

With raffle prizes, face painting, and free coffee for the first 100 people to attend, the mega adoption event is guaranteed to be a blast! There will be Papa Johns pizza by the slice, snow cones to keep everyone cool, and vendors from Augusta Dog Adoptions, Cat’s Cradle and Peak Performance Dog Sports.

“We are so excited to be working with such great animal welfare organizations and we are really looking forward to a huge adoption event”, says Lauren Maddox, shelter director at Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center.

Since opening last September, the Augusta Shelter has transformed animal welfare in the county, cutting the euthanasia rate in half. Over 950 animals have either been adopted or transferred to another animal welfare agency thanks to the tremendous work of the shelter staff. Rescue organizations like Augusta Dog Adoptions and Cat’s Cradle are finding new homes for these animals every week. This adoption event is a celebration of the success of the Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center over the last 10 months.

For more information about the event please call the Shenandoah Valley Animals Services Center at 540.437.1980 or visit www.spayandneuterclinic.org. Animals up for adoption are available to view at http://shenandoah.animalshelternet.com.
