Singer/songwriter Eileen Edmonds at WTA’s Gateway

The popular folk-singer/songwriter Eileen Edmonds will appear at WTA’s Gateway on Friday, March 2.

Edmonds, a lifetime resident of the Commonwealth of Virginia, is an accomplished Music Educator, Performing Songwriter and Recording Artist. She is known for her passion for collaborating and has spent years producing, performing and writing with bands.  She has toured extensively throughout the Northeastern, Mid Atlantic and Southeastern United States and has shared the stage with such great talents as Roger McGuinn, Joan Baez and Dr. Ralph Stanley.

According to family legend, it was a chilly Sunday night in the old farm house in Gloucester County, Virginia.  The family gathered around the dinner table was laughing and telling stories. The mother began playing the piano in the next room. One boy picked up his guitar, and another wiped down his harmonica. A young girl climbed up on the table and began to sing. That little girl was Eileen Edmonds and she has been singing ever since.

Possessing a warm and engaging stage personality, Eileen Edmonds draws her audience close with an easy familiarity.  She artfully weaves together laughter and lament with a voice noted for its considerable power and subtlety. Audiences soon feel they are a part of that extended family crowded around the dining room table.

Eileen Edmunds’ performance will be at 8 pm at 329 West Main in downtown Waynesboro.  Tickets are $10 and are available online at www.wtagateway.com or by calling the WTA box office 540-943-9999.  Tickets are also available at the box office on the night of performance.

Food and beverages are available.
