Saturday is first of two absentee voting days in Virginia

Contributors

constitutionSaturday marks the first of two Saturdays before the November 4 General Election, in which Virginia voters may cast an in-person absentee ballot at their local voter registration office.

These two Saturdays of absentee voting provide additional non-workday opportunities for voters who may not be able to make it to their polling place on Election Day, or to their voter registration office during the week.

Voters are highly encouraged to review the back page of the Virginia Absentee Ballot Application Form to determine if they qualify to vote an absentee ballot for this election.

All voters, voting in-person, including absentee voters, must now show an acceptable photo ID when casting their ballot.  Voters who do not have an acceptable form of ID may still vote absentee in-person after completing the Virginia Voter Photo Identification Card Application and receiving a Temporary Identification Document from their voter registration office.  More information about the voter photo ID law can be found at the Department of Elections’ website at elections.virginia.gov.

All Virginia voters are encouraged to check their registration status and polling place on the Department of Elections’ website at elections.virginia.gov  or by calling their local general registrar’s office.  Virginia voters may also call the Department of Elections’ toll free number for assistance at 1-800-552-9745.

I’m totally on the side of Dianna Russini in this generated controversy over her being caught holding hands, hugging and lounging in a hot tub with New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel. Seriously, what sportswriter isn’t holding hands, hugging and lounging in hot tubs with coaches they cover? Just last week, for instance, Ryan Odom,...
