Design

The Galaxy S8 is designed in a metal frame though with a more rugged structure. Compared to the Galaxy S8, it is resistant to shock shatter, water, and dust while S8 is only resistant to dust and water.

The S8 active is made with a bumper at the edges to keep it from abrasion, shock, tilting or twisting. The back texture is tough for secure grip compared to the glass device in the Galaxy S8.

The two phones are also different in weight where the S8 active weighs 208.1g while the standard S8 weighs 255g, therefore meaning the active model is larger and heavier. The standard S8 is slimmer of the two phones and neater; on the other hand, the S8 active is bulkier.

The two S8 phones are super AMOLED with a 5.8-inch screen. The standard S8 has a Gorilla glass protection while the S8 active has a layer of protection that is shatter-resistant along with Corning gorilla glass 5.

The two devices also have resolutions which vary though very slight. The S8 comes with a Quad HD+ at 2960 x 1440 pixels for a pixel density of 570ppi while theS8 active has a standard Quad resolution making its pixel move to 506ppi. This implies that the S8 may have a sharper display though this is not very noticeable.

Additionally, the S8 Active differs from the s8 whereby, it has a flat display while the standard S8 has an edge to edge design.

This depends entirely on a person usage needs. If I was asked I would go for the standard S8. The Galaxy S8 comes with an approach that applies to a number of people. The phone is compact, easy to hold and beautiful. The standard S8 is also less expensive.

The Active Galaxy S8 is good for those people that are very sure they are about to undertake heavy tasks that may put their phone in danger. The phone has a good battery life and so can be used for a long time more so by the much busier people. The Active S8 is however expensive.
