Salvation Army Waynesboro kicks off annual Red Kettle Season on Nov. 24

AFP

salvation armySalvation Army Lieutenants Timothy and Grace Jo and local advisory board chair Teresa Gauldin will kick off the 2018 Red Kettle Season on Saturday, Nov. 24, at 11 a.m. at Walmart in Waynesboro.

The Salvation Army relies on the generosity of its neighbors to fulfill its mission of “Doing the Most Good” throughout the community. About 33 percent of total yearly donations come through the Red Kettle campaign, which only runs from mid November until Dec. 24.

Funds collected in the Red Kettle provide healing and hope for those who need it most at Christmastime and throughout the year. Eighty-two cents of every dollar donated goes directly to funding Salvation Army initiatives. And all the money stays within the community in which it was given.
