Ryan Flick of Strasburg named Valley League player of the week

vbl2Strasburg Express first baseman Ryan Flick is the Valley Baseball League D-BAT Player of the Week for the preceding week’s games from June 4-13. He is the first recipient this season, selected from candidates nominated by coaches and VBL media relations staff.

Flick, a 6-3, 225-pound junior from Tennessee Tech and Bluff City, Tennessee , helped Strasburg to a 6-1 start this season. He scored five runs, hit two home runs and had 10 RBI in seven games for a .292 average. He led the league in RBI throughSaturday’s games.

The next D-Bat Player of the Week will be announced on June 22 and be selected from action in games from Sunday, June 14 through Saturday, June 20.
