RMH employees delivered big in the 2012 Employee Gifts Campaign, donating more than $114,000 and surpassing the campaign goal by 30 percent.

This year’s Employee Gifts Campaign, centered on the theme “We Deliver,” began May 22 and concluded June 29. Employees exceeded the $85,000 campaign goal, raising almost $20,000 more than last year.

A total of 750 employees participated in the campaign, including 125 who gave for the first time. Seventy-five more employees gave this year than last year, an increase of 11 percent.

“I am grateful for the generosity our employees delivered in this year’s gifts campaign as well as the quality care they deliver to every patient, every family, every day,” said RMH President Jim Krauss. “Their giving is a great reflection of the passion and dedication they have for fulfilling our mission to improve health and promote wellbeing. The many gifts that were given will help us do just that.”

Employees have been supporting the hospital through an annual gifts campaign since 1975. During this year’s campaign, employees had the option to support various needs throughout the hospital. According to Merv Webb, vice president, Foundation, the need receiving the greatest support was the Employee Relief Fund, a fund set up by the hospital to assist employees who are facing a personal financial crisis due to serious illness or another catastrophic situation.

The need receiving the second highest level of support was the capital campaign for the new RMH Funkhouser Women’s Center, Webb said. These funds will help build the new Center currently under construction, and will ultimately bring a new level of care to the women of our community.

Webb thanked the campaign co-chairs and the department representatives for their help in encouraging employees to donate. “Once again our employees are taking a lead in helping to create a healthier community for all our families, friends and neighbors,” he said.
