richmond flying squirrelsThe Richmond Flying Squirrels, in conjunction with the American Baseball Coaches Association, the Virginia Baseball Coaches Association and the Metropolitan Junior Baseball League, will host a free coaching clinic will be held on Saturday, May 19 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at The Diamond.

The ACE Community Clinic provides an opportunity for coaches to learn and grow by networking with local coaches while participating in on-field demonstrations. The clinics are open to coaches at any level of the game, as well as any baseball parents or enthusiasts.

“The Squirrels have a responsibility to use our platform to help kids, period.  And specifically, we have chosen to do that through baseball,” said Flying Squirrels VP & COO Todd “Parney” Parnell.  “By working with these wonderful organizations, we can help coaches help the kids on and off the field.”

Members of the Flying Squirrels coaching staff will also be on hand to lend their expertise at the event from 12:30-1 p.m. Participants will also receive a $2 off ticket offer for the Flying Squirrels game on Saturday, May 19 by using the promo code: acecommunity. Additionally, MJBL coaches will be participating in the event.

“Baseball ACE (USA Baseball and the American Baseball Coaches Association) is proud to partner with the Flying Squirrels and the VBCA to bring a free community coaching clinic to Richmond,” said Andrew Bartman Youth Division Liaison for

The American Baseball Coaches Association. “This collaboration ensures that coaches from all levels in the Richmond area have access to great material and functional drills that they can take back to their teams and practices. I personally am very excited to come up and meet as many coaches in the area as I can, as we continue to see grassroots baseball coaching education grow.”
