soap-box-newBlue Ridge Soap Box Derby Classic registrations will be ending soon for the annual Soap Box Derby race to be held this year on Saturday, June 1st on 11th Street between Wayne and Pine Avenues in Waynesboro.

Registrations will be taken on the mandatory clinic night this Wednesday, April 3rd at Kate Collins Middle School in Waynesboro at 6 p.m.

Registration fees are $60.00 for all racers the night of the clinic.  Discounts will be available, please ask for details.  Come see what the excitement is about, you don’t have to have a car to get involved.

Girls and boys from 7 to 17 years of age are invited to register for the derby either in Stock, Super Stock and Masters (if ran) divisions. The Blue Ridge Soap Box franchise area includes Albemarle, Augusta, Rockbridge, Bath, Highland and Louisa counties and the cities therein.

Last year we had almost 60 boys and girls racing for the championship in 4 divisions. These champs went on to represent Waynesboro in the All American Derby in Akron in late July.

Letters have been sent out to all last year’s drivers.  If you know of a possible new racer, please contact the Derby Director.

Information and registration forms are also available on our new website – www.blueridgesoapboxderby.com.

You can also call Derby Director, Anthony Marshall, at 540-649-1507, or Joe Kaminski at 540-476-3333.
