As expected, the UVA Baseball game with George Mason scheduled for Tuesday has been canceled.

The reason: obviously, the heavy rain.

It would have been interesting to see the approach to the game from Virginia coach Brian O’Connor, given that Mason (35-17, average computer ranking: 92) is no pushover.

Virginia (30-16, ACR: 39) has won 10 of its last 11, but is still on the edge of the NCAA Tournament field at the moment.

Coaches often go staff day with the pitching in mid-week games, but with the margin of error so tight for the ‘Hoos right now, I dunno.

The game, because we’re so close to the end of the 2025 regular season, will not be rescheduled.

Virginia is next in action at Virginia Tech (29-22, ACR: 54) with a three-game series beginning on Thursday.
