Police officer to lead Writer’s Group

The Waynesboro Writer’s Group meeting set for Saturday morning at Stone Soup Books and Cafe will feature a familiar face – and badge.

Waynesboro police officer Mark Kearney will lead the monthly meeting at 10 a.m. at Stone Soup in Downtown Waynesboro. Kearny is the founder of the Book ‘Em Foundation and the annual Book ‘Em book festival and the author of a police thriller, Twisted Obsession.

Kearney is a 10-year veteran of the Waynesboro Police Department and a U.S. Navy veteran.

The Writer’s Group is sponsored by the Waynesboro Cultural Commission. The group’s meetings are free and open to the public.
