A 65-year-old Gretna woman is dead after she lost control of her vehicle and struck a home Sunday night in Pittsylvania County.

The driver, Ora Pannell Slade, was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene, according to Virginia State Police.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at 6:47 p.m. on Route 686, approximately one half mile south of Route 40.
