Pilot dead in fatal plane crash at private airstrip in Virginia

A pilot is dead after a plane crash this afternoon in Scott County, according to the Virginia State Police.

The crash occurred at 2:51 p.m. in the 700 block of Davinci Drive at a private airstrip.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board have been notified.

The pilot is the only fatality.
