The Virginia Department of Transportation will close a portion of Route 60 near the city limits of Buena Vista between Ridge Avenue and Green Forest Avenue for a culvert replacement. Work will begin at 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, and run through 10 a.m., Friday, August 12.
While the work zone is in Rockbridge County, a detour will be in place in Amherst County from Route 60 to Route 635 (Buffalo Springs Turnpike) for approximately 10 miles to Route 130/501 for approximately 24 miles, then back to Route 60 in Buena Vista.
All work is weather permitting.
